| Sitting in an empty hallway, admiring the portraits swirling across the ceiling, she sighs deeply inward. Stray locks of her plain brown hair dangle loosely across her pale cheek, in her sad caramel eyes and down to the slightly upturned tip of her nose. Her thoughts were much less describable than her simple features, swarming together as she now stared blankly at the sheet of paper on the floor before her. Her pen etched thin slanting characters across it, meaningless to anyone but her. They danced together on the page, telling a tale only she could comprehend and soon her mind emptied of everything, concentrating only on one of the characters at a time. Each one took its turn filling her, pulsing through her veins, coursing through her nerves, pounding in her muscle and thundering though her bones. One by one they brought her to life, each adding it's own part of itself to what should be her personality...but they only lasted but a minute before fading away with the sound of her barking canine companion, majestic and wolf-like on the exterior, but just an obnoxious puppy inside. The husky bolted over her to the door a the end of the hall where her parents appeared, home again, carrying with them all the stresses she had momentarily forgotten. |

To those who understand, I extend my hand. To the doubtful I demand, take me as I am.
Not under your command, I know where I stand. I won't change to fit your plan, take me as I am.
